The UTSF Negotiating Team is heading to the table to bargain over the raise pool for tenure-system faculty and librarians for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This is a significant milestone for the union and follows many hours of preparation, research, and collective work. The team’s goal is to reach a favorable and transparent increase for faculty and librarians in the coming year.
Any tentative agreement reached with MSU will be presented to UTSF members for consideration. Members will have an opportunity to discuss the agreement and vote on ratification before it becomes final.
Who the agreement covers
A ratified agreement will apply to the entire tenure-system faculty bargaining unit. The right to vote on whether to accept the agreement belongs to UTSF members.
That distinction makes membership especially consequential. Joining demonstrates to the university that faculty are organized and determined, strengthens the negotiating team’s position, and provides a direct role in both this raise-pool decision and the larger first-contract negotiations ahead.
Faculty priorities extend beyond a single annual increase. They include academic freedom, fair compensation, meaningful participation in decisions that affect our work, and the ability to shape MSU’s future. Every member adds experience and perspective to that effort.
Become a UTSF member and take part in the discussion and ratification process.
